Lawn Mowing services for DVA-Funded Veterans Across Ipswich
AOK Mowing provides lawn mowing and garden maintenance for veterans across Ipswich funded through the Department of Veterans’ Affairs Household Services program.
Based in Redbank Plains and operating since 2017, AOK Mowing is an owner operated business providing reliable lawn maintenance services throughout Ipswich and surrounding suburbs. Once your DVA documentation is confirmed, services can be scheduled and invoiced directly to the DVA on your behalf.

Lawn Mowing Through the DVA Household Services Program
The DVA Household Services program provides eligible veterans with funded assistance for tasks around the home, including lawn mowing and garden maintenance. The program is generally available to Gold Card holders and eligible White Card holders with approved conditions. To access funded services through DVA, two documents need to be in place before work can begin.
Once those documents are confirmed, AOK Mowing can take you on as a client, set up a regular schedule and invoice the DVA directly. There is no referral required. Veterans and their families are welcome to get in touch directly.
Two Documents Required Before Services Can Begin
Before AOK Mowing can take you on as a DVA client, a copy of both of the following documents is required. These are issued by the DVA and confirm your eligibility, the services approved and the period within which a provider can be engaged.
Keeping Properties Safe and Well Maintained
AOK Mowing provides consistent, scheduled lawn mowing and garden maintenance for DVA-funded veterans across Ipswich. Regular fortnightly visits keep lawns under control and properties looking tidy throughout the year without the need for large catch-up jobs.
Owner Attends Every Visit Personally
Every DVA lawn mowing visit across Ipswich is carried out personally by the owner. There are no contractors, no subcontractors and no rotating staff turning up at your property. The same person who quoted the job is the same person mowing your lawn, managing your schedule and communicating with you or your carer about any changes.
This matters for DVA clients who value consistency and trust. Veterans become familiar with who is attending their property, and the service provider becomes familiar with the layout, access points, pet arrangements and any specific requirements of each property over time.
Property Left Safe And Tidy After Every Visit
Every property is left safe and tidy after each mowing visit. Gates are secured before leaving, hard surfaces including driveways, paths and patios are blown clear of grass clippings, and debris from the work is removed or collected before departure.
This standard applies whether the veteran is home or not, so properties are left ready for use immediately after every service.
You Do Not Need To Be Home
Veterans do not need to be home during scheduled DVA lawn mowing visits. Most regular clients arrange for side gate access and are at work, at appointments or simply going about their day while the service is completed.
Access arrangements are confirmed at setup. Gate location, key access, pet arrangements and specific instructions are recorded on your property file so every visit runs the same way.
Scheduling Through Family Or Carers Welcome
Scheduling can be coordinated through a family member, partner, carer or support coordinator if preferred. Many DVA clients have a family member who manages appointments, and AOK Mowing is happy to communicate directly with them instead of the veteran where that arrangement suits best.
If any access issues, property concerns or safety matters are noticed during a visit, these are communicated promptly to the veteran or their nominated contact so they can be addressed quickly.
AOK Mowing also provides lawn mowing and garden maintenance for NDIS participants across Ipswich, working with both self-managed and plan-managed participants. Get in touch to find out more or arrange a service.

Services Available For DVA Lawn Maintenance Include
Veterans approved for lawn and garden maintenance through the DVA Household Services program can access routine lawn care services to help maintain their property.
Each service below is delivered in line with the frequency and scope approved in your Household Determination Letter.
Additional services may be available depending on what has been approved in your Household Determination Letter
Routine Lawn Mowing Schedule For DVA Clients
Lawn mowing through the DVA Household Services program is scheduled fortnightly as standard. Fortnightly visits keep Ipswich lawns under control year round and prevent overgrowth between services.
What Each Fortnightly Visit Includes
Every scheduled visit covers mowing the lawn, trimming edges and whipper snipping around obstacles before blowing down hard surfaces. The same standard of work is delivered at every visit so properties stay consistently well maintained.
Gardening And Additional Services
Gardening services, where approved, are either scheduled separately or bundled into the fortnightly mowing visit depending on your DVA package. Other services such as gutter cleaning, hedge trimming or larger garden work may be approved at different intervals, typically monthly or quarterly.
The exact frequency for each service you are approved for is listed in your Household Determination Letter.
How DVA Invoicing Works
Once your DVA documentation is confirmed and services are underway, invoices are submitted directly to the DVA through the online DVA portal following each completed service. Veterans do not need to be involved in the invoicing process.
If preferred, invoices can instead be directed to the veteran directly, who can then seek reimbursement through the DVA. Most clients find direct DVA invoicing the simpler option, but either arrangement can be accommodated.
