NDIS Funding

Funding Lawn Mowing Through Your NDIS Plan

Lawn mowing and yard maintenance can be funded through an NDIS plan under Core Supports, Assistance with Daily Life. The relevant support item is House or Yard Maintenance (01_019_0120_1_1). Whether this is included in a participant’s plan depends on individual circumstances and is best confirmed with a support coordinator or plan manager.

AOK Mowing works with self-managed and plan-managed participants. If you are unsure which management type applies to your plan, your support coordinator or plan manager can confirm.

NDIA / Agency managed support is not currently offered.

AOK Mowing also provides lawn mowing services for DVA (Department of Veterans’ Affairs) funded clients across Ipswich. If you hold a DVA card and require lawn maintenance, get in touch to discuss eligibility and arrange a service.

Getting Started

How to Get Started

Getting NDIS lawn mowing arranged with AOK Mowing is straightforward for plan managed and self managed participants. Here is the process from first contact through to regular lawn maintenance.

1

Get In Touch

For plan managed NDIS participants, a support coordinator or plan manager can contact AOK Mowing by email or through the contact form with the participant’s property address, access details and lawn care needs. Self managed participants are welcome to get in touch directly.

2

Quote And Service Agreement

An overview of expected NDIS lawn mowing costs is provided by email. If a formal written quote or service agreement is needed for approval, plan manager processing or support coordinator records, it can be prepared before the first visit.

3

Schedule Confirmed

Once approved, the first visit is booked and a regular fortnightly schedule can be set up so the lawn is maintained consistently without needing to rebook each time.

4

Service Carried Out

Each standard visit includes mowing, edging, whipper snipping and hard surface blow down. The participant does not need to be home, as long as access is available, pets are secured and the lawn is clear on the day.

NDIS Lawn Mowing FAQs

Lawn mowing and yard maintenance can be funded through an NDIS plan under Core Supports, Assistance with Daily Life, support item House or Yard Maintenance (01_019_0120_1_1).

Whether it is funded in your specific plan depends on your individual circumstances. Your support coordinator or plan manager is the right person to confirm this.

AOK Mowing works with self-managed and plan-managed participants. Unfortunately NDIA and agency-managed support is not something that can be accommodated at this stage.

If you are unsure which management type applies to your plan, your support coordinator or plan manager will be able to confirm.

No. NDIS lawn mowing through AOK Mowing does not require a referral or formal assessment. As long as House or Yard Maintenance is approved in the participant’s plan under Core Supports, the service can be arranged directly by the participant, a family member, support coordinator or plan manager.

Yes. Support coordinators and plan managers can arrange NDIS lawn mowing on the participant’s behalf.

Initial contact, quoting and ongoing communication can be handled directly with the coordinator or plan manager, removing the need for the participant to be involved in every step.

Yes. Family members, carers and other authorised contacts are welcome to arrange visits on behalf of an NDIS participant.

Scheduling, access details and ongoing communication can be coordinated through whoever is best placed to manage the arrangement.

For plan-managed participants, AOK Mowing works directly with the support coordinator or plan manager as the primary point of contact. They can get in touch to confirm arrangements, request documentation and set up invoicing without needing the participant to be involved in every step.

A current National Police Check, valid Blue Card, public liability insurance certificate and service agreement are all available on request.

In most cases, an email is sent outlining the cost of the service before any work begins. This is usually enough to get started. If a formal written quote is required, one is available on request and a site visit may be arranged depending on the nature of the work.

Service agreements are available on request where required by a plan manager or support coordinator.

Scheduling is arranged to suit the participant’s plan and property requirements. Fortnightly services are recommended for most properties as they keep lawns consistently maintained and prevent excessive growth between visits.

Services can include NDIS lawn mowing, garden maintenance and general yard maintenance depending on the participant’s needs.

No. The participant does not need to be home. Safe access to the yard is all that is needed on the scheduled day, along with the lawn being clear of any items. The property is left safe and tidy at the end of every visit with gates secured before leaving.

If a plan is reviewed or expires, the service can pause or continue based on the new plan outcome. The participant or their support coordinator can confirm the next steps once the new plan is in place. Ongoing scheduling can resume seamlessly without needing to re-onboard.
