Funding Lawn Mowing Through Your NDIS Plan

Lawn mowing and yard maintenance can be funded through an NDIS plan under Core Supports, Assistance with Daily Life. The relevant support item is House or Yard Maintenance (01_019_0120_1_1). Whether this is included in a participant’s plan depends on individual circumstances and is best confirmed with a support coordinator or plan manager.

AOK Mowing works with self-managed and plan-managed participants. If you are unsure which management type applies to your plan, your support coordinator or plan manager can confirm.

NDIA / Agency managed support is not currently offered.

AOK Mowing also provides lawn mowing services for DVA (Department of Veterans’ Affairs) funded clients across Ipswich. If you hold a DVA card and require lawn maintenance, get in touch to discuss eligibility and arrange a service.

How to Get Started

Getting NDIS lawn mowing arranged with AOK Mowing is straightforward for plan managed and self managed participants. Here is the process from first contact through to regular lawn maintenance.

Get In Touch

For plan managed NDIS participants, a support coordinator or plan manager can contact AOK Mowing by email or through the contact form with the participant’s property address, access details and lawn care needs. Self managed participants are welcome to get in touch directly.

Quote And Service Agreement

An overview of expected NDIS lawn mowing costs is provided by email. If a formal written quote or service agreement is needed for approval, plan manager processing or support coordinator records, it can be prepared before the first visit.

Schedule Confirmed

Once approved, the first visit is booked and a regular fortnightly schedule can be set up so the lawn is maintained consistently without needing to rebook each time.

Service Carried Out

Each standard visit includes mowing, edging, whipper snipping and hard surface blow down. The participant does not need to be home, as long as access is available, pets are secured and the lawn is clear on the day.

Invoice Issued

After each service, an invoice is issued with the details needed for plan manager processing or self managed claim submission. Ongoing visits are handled on the agreed schedule with clear communication if weather or access changes.

AOK Mowing maintains the documentation commonly required by support coordinators and plan managers when arranging services for NDIS participants. Full insurance coverage, a current National Police Check and a valid Queensland Blue Card are held and can be provided where required.

Fully Insured

Full public liability insurance is held for all lawn mowing and garden maintenance work.

  • Certificate of Currency available on request for plan managers and coordinators

National Police Check

A current National Police Check is held and renewed in line with NDIS provider requirements.

  • Verifies suitability for work in NDIS participant homes

A valid Queensland Blue Card is held, authorising work in homes around children, young people and other vulnerable persons.

In most cases, an email is sent outlining the cost of the service before any work begins. This is usually enough to get started. If a formal written quote is required, one is available on request and a site visit may be arranged depending on the nature of the work.

Scheduling is arranged to suit the participant’s plan and property requirements. Fortnightly services are recommended for most properties as they keep lawns consistently maintained and prevent excessive growth between visits.
