Safe Outdoor Spaces

Supporting Safe and Accessible Properties

AOK Mowing focuses on consistent Ipswich lawn mowing and garden maintenance to keep outdoor areas safe, tidy and accessible for NDIS participants. Regular upkeep keeps lawns under control, pathways clear and properties manageable throughout the year without the need for large clean-up jobs.

Every visit is carried out with care and consideration for the participant. Properties are left safe and tidy after each job, gates are secured before leaving and hard surfaces are blown clear of clippings. Participants do not need to be home, and scheduling can be coordinated through a family member, carer or support coordinator if required. If any access or property issues are noticed during a visit, these are communicated promptly so they can be addressed.

AOK Mowing has been providing lawn mowing and garden maintenance across Ipswich since 2017, with many long-term clients including NDIS participants and funded support clients.

Services Available For NDIS Participants

NDIS participants can access a range of lawn and garden maintenance services depending on their property requirements and approved supports.

NDIS Funding

Funding Lawn Mowing Through Your NDIS Plan

Lawn mowing and yard maintenance can be funded through an NDIS plan under Core Supports, Assistance with Daily Life. The relevant support item is House or Yard Maintenance (01_019_0120_1_1). Whether this is included in a participant’s plan depends on individual circumstances and is best confirmed with a support coordinator or plan manager.

AOK Mowing works with self-managed and plan-managed participants. If you are unsure which management type applies to your plan, your support coordinator or plan manager can confirm.

NDIA / Agency managed support is not currently offered.

AOK Mowing also provides lawn mowing services for DVA (Department of Veterans’ Affairs) funded clients across Ipswich. If you hold a DVA card and require lawn maintenance, get in touch to discuss eligibility and arrange a service.

Plan Types

Working With Participants, Coordinators & Plan Managers

For plan-managed participants, AOK Mowing works directly with the support coordinator or plan manager to confirm arrangements, manage invoicing and provide any required documentation. Self-managed participants are welcome to get in touch directly to arrange services.

Documentation commonly requested by coordinators and plan managers, including public liability insurance, National Police Check, Blue Card verification and service agreements, can be provided on request.

Self-Managed Participants

You can contact AOK Mowing directly to arrange a service. Once the job is completed, you are invoiced directly and are responsible for processing the payment and submitting the claim to the NDIS yourself.

Plan-Managed Participants

For plan-managed participants, the support coordinator or plan manager is the primary point of contact. They can get in touch directly through the contact form or by email to confirm the arrangement, discuss documentation requirements and set up invoicing before services begin.

Getting Started

How to Get Started

Getting NDIS lawn mowing arranged with AOK Mowing is straightforward. Here is what the process looks like from first contact through to ongoing maintenance.

Get in Touch

For plan-managed participants, the support coordinator or plan manager typically makes first contact by email or through the contact form with the participant’s property address and a brief description of what is needed. Self-managed participants are welcome to get in touch directly.

Costs And Quoting

An overview of expected costs is provided by email on enquiry. For most properties this gives participants, coordinators and plan managers a clear enough picture to proceed. If a formal written quote is needed, one can be arranged, and a site visit may be required before it is issued.

Service Agreement

A service agreement is available on request for coordinators and plan managers. Where required, this will be provided and confirmed prior to the first visit.

Schedule Confirmed

Once approved, the first visit is scheduled and the day of attendance confirmed. A regular fortnightly schedule can be set up so the property is maintained consistently without needing to re-book each time.

Service Carried Out

Mowing, edging, whipper snipping and blow-off are completed on every standard visit. The property is left safe and tidy. The participant does not need to be home. Just ensure access is available and the lawn is clear on the day.

Invoice Issued

An invoice is sent upon completed service with all details needed for plan manager processing or self-managed claim submission.

NDIS READY

Documentation Ready For Support Coordinators and Plan Managers

AOK Mowing maintains the documentation commonly required by support coordinators and plan managers when arranging services for NDIS participants. Full insurance coverage, a current National Police Check and a valid Queensland Blue Card are held and can be provided where required.

Fully Insured

AOK Mowing is fully insured for lawn mowing and garden maintenance services. This provides protection for both the participant and the property while work is being carried out.

National Police Check

A current National Police Check is held, providing reassurance for participants, families and coordinators who require a trusted service provider attending the property. A copy can be provided on request where required.

Blue Card (QLD)

A valid Queensland Blue Card is held, allowing work in environments where vulnerable people may be present. This is often required for services provided to NDIS participants and families. A copy can be supplied on request where required.

NDIS Lawn Mowing FAQs

Lawn mowing and yard maintenance can be funded through an NDIS plan under Core Supports, Assistance with Daily Life, support item House or Yard Maintenance (01_019_0120_1_1).

Whether it is funded in your specific plan depends on your individual circumstances. Your support coordinator or plan manager is the right person to confirm this.

AOK Mowing works with self-managed and plan-managed participants. Unfortunately NDIA and agency-managed support is not something that can be accommodated at this stage.

If you are unsure which management type applies to your plan, your support coordinator or plan manager will be able to confirm.

For plan-managed participants, AOK Mowing works directly with the support coordinator or plan manager as the primary point of contact. They can get in touch to confirm arrangements, request documentation and set up invoicing without needing the participant to be involved in every step.

A current National Police Check, valid Blue Card, public liability insurance certificate and service agreement are all available on request.

In most cases, an email is sent outlining the cost of the service before any work begins. This is usually enough to get started. If a formal written quote is required, one is available on request and a site visit may be arranged depending on the nature of the work. Service agreements are available on request where required by a plan manager or support coordinator.

Scheduling is arranged to suit the participant’s plan and property requirements. Fortnightly services are recommended for most properties as they keep lawns consistently maintained and prevent excessive growth between visits.

Services can include NDIS lawn mowing, garden maintenance and general yard maintenance depending on the participant’s needs.

No. The participant does not need to be home. Safe access to the yard is all that is needed on the scheduled day, along with the lawn being clear of any items. The property is left safe and tidy at the end of every visit with gates secured before leaving.

NDIS lawn mowing is available across Ipswich and surrounding suburbs including Redbank Plains, Collingwood Park, Bellbird Park, Augustine Heights, Springfield Lakes, Springfield, Brookwater, Ripley, South Ripley, Spring Mountain, Goodna, Riverview, Dinmore, Bundamba, Camira, Gailes, Silkstone, Blackstone, Raceview, Eastern Heights and Flinders View.
If your suburb is not listed, get in touch as nearby areas may be covered.

Submit the contact form below or get in touch by email with the participant’s property address and a brief description of what is needed.
